Dynamo out of Luck
By Michael Simpson • Jun 10th, 2010 • Category: Lead StoryThe Houston Chronicle reported today that Houston Dynamo President/General Manager Oliver Luck will be named athletic director at the University of West Virginia, his alma mater, at a press conference later today.
Under his leadership, the team has been a consistent powerhouse in Major League Soccer. Now in its fifth season, the team has never failed to make the playoffs, winning MLS Cup in 2006 and 2007 and making a western conference finals appearance in 2009.
Luck has been the team’s top executive since day one and played an integral role in getting city and county approval for a new stadium in which the team will play starting 2012.
Luck has yet to be made available for comment, however the team announced he will address the media at 11:30 a.m. today during a luncheon for the Houston Northwest Chamber of Commerce.
